Search engine optimisation has come a long way in recent years and it’s not about cramming your webpage with irrelevant keywords any more. It was a strategy employed by many to lure users, which they managed but keeping those users interested for a long time turned out to be a task. The hallmark of any SEO strategy and a good website is that it should be able to create repeat visitors to the site.

And it can only happen when these users can find the information about products and services they are looking for. Content is king, is a commonly coined phrase in the world of search engine optimization and it’s extremely pertinent. Without solid, quality content there is no chance any SEO strategy can bring your website desired results.

As a business owner it’s understandable that you don’t have the time of the day to create content of your own. Fortunately, you can get help from qualified professionals who can take over the responsibility of creating fresh and unique content for you, which will keep bringing visitors back for more.

Quality content has to be error free; those annoying typos are a strict No because it only spells out lack of interest to your readers. The natural perception about your company would then be whether they even know what they are talking about. The content of course has to be rich in keywords but they have to be well researched so that they bring desired results. Stuffing your content with irrelevant keywords can only be counterproductive as it’s detested by search engines.

Refreshing your site’s content is equally important for users to keep coming back to your site. If there’s nothing new on the site there’s no reason for users to return, is there? Get the content and frequency of updating it right to hold a long lasting sway on your visitors.

When writing site content you should think about the keyword density. Keyword density is the amount of times that your keyword will appear on the web page. Generally speaking you should aim for around 3% keyword density. If it is more than that, you run the risk of your website appearing to be spammy. If it is less than that, say 1% you may not rank well for that specific keyword because Google and the search engines will not consider it to be related to those keywords. So it is a bit of a balance to ensure your web page is targetted for those keywords but making sure you do not over-do it with keyword spam.

Do not steal other peoples content and put it on your website without giving them credit for it. Credit is given with a link to the original document. This is usually accepted but you should first read the tems and conditions from the website you are borrowing content from. Check with their webmaster if you are unsure. Generally speaking content syndicated through RSS is considered public domain and you can use it as long as you retain the original link back to the source website.
